The 2023 Catalogue is here...
We will complete our product range in late 2023 with the integration of agritech into the HiveIQ apiculture system. Our agritech is designed to be integrated, out of the way of day to day beekeeping but always on to compliment the wisdom of beekeepers with data driven decision making.
HiveIQ is an end to end system you can rely upon for better beehives, enterprise software and integrated agritech.

We're for healthy bees
Better for the bees, better for the environment and better for the beekeeper
The HiveIQ beehive is the foundation of the HiveIQ beekeeping system.
Constructed with high density Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) for high fusion strength, high quality
and precision finish, the hives are designed for usability and long life.
Rich in features & functionality
From our launch at the 4th Australian Bee Congress in Sydney, June 2022.
Our hives are dry rot and termite proof, and are engineered to endure the rigours of commercial beekeeping:
- Compatible with industry standard Langstroth frames
- Constructed with bee safe and food grade materials
- More than 6 times greater insulation than traditional timber hives
- Stable hive temperature all year round with no condensation
- No wasted energy on thermal management = More productive colonies
- Faster assembly = bees on flowers faster and cheaper
- More compact and lighter; fits 6 wide on a truck, with half the weight of timber
Standard with every HiveIQ hive, our NFC tag and our HiveIQ hive diary will enable the beekeeper to view the control dashboard for each hive.Activities like disease inspections, requeening and harvesting can be logged in real time, for later recall and analysis.
The hive entrance can be configured to: optimise colony security; enhance in and out traffic.
The entrance provides a flat floor, enabling fast and efficient removal of debris such as dead bees, chalk brood and pests.
The 360 protective edge enables the hive tool to be inserted anywhere around the hive body without damaging the hive.
The 360-degree edge prevents pests such as ants and wax moth entering the space between hive boxes.
The bee environment
HiveIQ is for healthy bees, our products provide a better environment for bees than timber hives.
Our hives have zero toxic emissions or detritus that may affect your bees. Each hive’s construction material (EPS) is safe, non-toxic and totally inert. At no time in its life cycle will it contain or emit any Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) or Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs).
Wild honeybees choose to live in the hollows of large trees and logs because they provide a large protective thermal mass, reducing the amount of energy required to maintain the hive’s climate. In contrast, most domesticated colonies are housed in fabricated timber hives with a typical wall thickness of 20mm offering very little insulation against the outside elements. The insulation is further decreased when the timber becomes waterlogged during damp cold winters.
See our section on why insulation matters and how light weight EPS hives are better for beekeepers too.
EPS is recyclable
Our hives last longer than timber hives, many times longer and are 100% recyclable.
HiveIQ is committed to recycling all products we make, although that may be in a very long time, we will accept the return of all of our products and manage the recycling process.
The collected EPS is fed into a granulation machine. The granulated material is then fed to a hopper where it is stored before being compressed into continuous lengths for use in other products or resused in the production of more beehives.
